PURPOSE:To obtain a soft magnetic material with high specific resistance and small overcurrent loss by press-molding high-purity Fe powder with low C content and by treating it with superheated steam at a specified temp. to restore plastic strain produced during the press molding and to bond the grains together with oxide. CONSTITUTION:High-purity Fe powder consisting of <=0.1% Mo, <=0.01% S, <=0.8% P, <=0.02% C, <=0.05% N, <=0.1% O and the balance Fe is press-molded and held in superheated steam at 500-600 deg.C for a long time. By the treatment, plastic strain produced during the press molding is restored, and the grains are bonded together with Fe3O4-base oxide films. A soft magnetic material obtd. by this method has superior magnetic characteristics and considerable strength. Since the material can be formed into parts as one body by press forming, it can be effectively used as the material of parts of a soft magnetic body for apparatus for AC and high frequency. |
