PURPOSE:To detect the presence or absence of red hot coke and to prevent the damage in a detection part, by utilizing the force which is exerted on the feeding part of a hopper, forcing out a feeding gate slightly to the outer side of the hopper by said force and turning a switch on and off. CONSTITUTION:A feeding gate 11 for controlling the layer thickness of red hot coke 1 on a fire grate 3 is provided in the red hot coke outlet of a hopper 4 of a fire extinguishing installation. There is a vertical moving device 12 for moving the feeding gate vertically in the upper part of the gate 11 and is so constructed that the feeding gate oscillates to the outer side when force is exerted on the feeding gate from the inside of the hopper to the outer side. The device is so arranged that a switch is turned on and off by the movement of the feeding gate by which the presence or absence of the red hot coke is detected. The direct action of the impact force by the falling of the red hot coke on the detection part is obviated and the damage of the detection part is prevented. |
