PURPOSE:To make reset of a floppy disc even if the surface of floppy disc is reversed, unnecessary by controlling a rotating means to switch the rotating direction if an index hole is not detected within a preliminarily determined time. CONSTITUTION:The device consists of the first detecting circuit 2 which detects the index hole of a floppy disc when the floppy disc is rotated in the normal direction, the second detecting circuit 3 which detects the index hole when the floppy disc is rotated in the reverse direction, a reversible motor 3, the first head 4, the second head 5, and a controlling circuit 6. The floppy disc rotated by a reversible motor 1 is accessed by the head 4 or 5, and data 21 and 19 or data 21 and 17 are read and written in response to access commands 23 and 20 or access commands 23 and 18. Whether both faces of the floppy disc are set correctly or not, data are read and written correctly by the heads. |
