PURPOSE:To prevent the vapor of fuel from flowing out into the atmosphere by a method wherein a fuel vent line for forcibly introducing the vapor of the fuel filling the upstream side of a carbrettor into a canister is provided. CONSTITUTION:A fuel sensor 21 goes ON when the temperature of the fuel in the float chamber of a carburettor 5 becomes higher than a predetermined value and an alcohol temperature sensor 22 goes ON when the density of alcohol contained in the fuel in a fuel tank 1 becomes higher than a predetermined value. Thus, when the sensors 21 and 22 go ON together by the detection of the above temperature condition, that is, when a controller 25 generates a drive signal to a vacuum pump 24 at the time of stoppage of the engine under the condition in which the amount of generation of the fuel vapor becomes considerably large, the vacuum pump 24 is driven and the fuel vapor filling an air chamber 11 on the upstream side of the carburettor 5 is forcibly supplied through a second fuel vent line 23. |
