PURPOSE:To start an engine easily with reduced power consumption by a method wherein a small-sized engine is started by a small-sized starting motor and the rotational power of the subengine is transmitted to a main engine through a reducing mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A small-sized starting motor 9 is driven by the output of a battery 14 at the time of setting an ignition mode of a keyswitch 13. Therefore, the output shaft 5 of the small-sized subengine 4 started by the starting motor 9 is connected to the crankshaft 2 of a main engine 1 through reducing mechanisms 3 and 6. Thus, the output of the battery 14 required for starting the engine becomes extremely small so that the starting of the engine is performed easily and accurately. |
