PURPOSE:To communicate also with a facsimile produced by a different maker or at an original transmission mode prepared by ourselves, by changing the time of a phase signal sent from the transmission side and the frequency of a reception ready status checking signal sent from the receiving side. CONSTITUTION:Before the arrival of a picture signal from a facsimile transmitting station 1, a facsimile receiving station 2 detects the arrival time length of a phase regulating signal sent from the facsimile transmitting station 1, selects the frequency of a reception ready status checking signal from a frequency signal generating circuit 15 in accordance with the detected arrival time length and sends the selected frequency to the facsimile transmitting station 1. In the transmitting station 1, a frequency checking circuit 6 detects the frequency of the reception ready status checking signal to select the transmitting method of a picture signal in accordance with the detected frequency. |
