发明名称 OPTICAL CONTROL TYPE OPTICAL SWITCH
摘要 PURPOSE:To shorten the interruption time of an optical control type optical switch by remodeling electrode and using additional control light. CONSTITUTION:The optical control type switch consists of an LiNbO3 substrate 9, Ti diffused waveguide 10, slantingly vapor-deposited elements 11 and 12, and electrodes 13 and 14. The element 11 is irradiated to the 1st control light 15 and the element 12 is irradiated to the 2nd control light 16 to generate photoelectromotive force having the opposite polarity, assuming the electrode 13 as a reference, the electrode 14. If the control light is not made incident when signal light 16 is made incident, the signal light 16 travels straight to obtain projected light 17. When the 1st control light 16 made incident to the element 11, a voltage by photomotive force is applied to near the intersection part of the optical waveguide 10 through the electrode 14 and the projected light of the incident light 16 is switched from 17 to 18. During the interruption time operation, the element 12 is irradiated to the 2nd control light 16 to apply the voltage with the opposite polarity to the intersection part of the optical waveguide 10, and to shorten the interruption time.
