The stand is designed to support a stake (8) in a flower box (2) comprising telescopic arms (3) radiating from a sleeve (7) mounted on the stake. The arms extend from the sleeve to attach to the box walls, connecting to the sleeve by means of double articulated joints permitting rotation in both horizontal and vertical planes. A pivotable (17) clip mounted on the free end of each arm may be used to fasten to the walls, comprising cranked tongues (15, 16) connected by a nut (18) and bolt and separated by a spring (20). The double articulated joint may use a hinge (21) to provide for rotation about a vertical axis (22) and to support a plate (24) locating a horizontal pin (23) securing the inboard end of an arm. Separate clip fittings (12) may be used to fix further stakes (14) to the arms.
