PURPOSE:To raise the efficiency and reliability of operation of a rotary compressor, by reducing the frictional force acted between vanes and vane slots in which the vanes are slided by changing the setting angle of the vane slots to a particular angle, and thereby reducing wear at the sliding contact portions as well as the mechanical input force. CONSTITUTION:According to the present invention, vane slots 10 are formed such that the angle of vanes 9 is perpendicular to the tangential line l at contact points P of the vanes 9 to a rotor 4 at the time of the turning angle 45 deg. of the rotor 4 when the speed of movement of the vanes 9 caused by the rotor 4 becomes maximum. That is, the vane slots 10 are formed in a direction in which the force of the rotor 4 urging the vanes 9 upward is acted (in a direction making an angle alpha to the y-axis). Since, with such an arrangement, no component force is acted to the vanes 9 at the above turning angle of the rotor 4, the vanes 9 are slided smoothly in their sliding directions, so that the frictional force acted between the vanes 9 and the vane slots 10 can be minimized. By thus reducing wear at the sliding contact portions and thereby reducing the mechanical input force, it is enabled to enhance reliability of operation and to raise the efficiency of operation of a rotary compressor. |
