<p>Vessel has a spherical inner shell within a spherical, outer shell forming a heat transfer jacket. Within the vessel a power-driven, rotary shaft is inclined, at an angle between 0 and 90 deg., to the central vertical axis of the vessel. The shaft is fitted with a rotor for, e.g. agitating, stirring, scraping the prod. as required. The vessel is constructed and equipped so that it can be filled with prod. by vacuum suction and emptied by applying air pressure. The vessel is partic. suitable for the mfr. of cheese but has many other possible applications in the food industry, e.g. for voghurt, cream, yeasts, etc. The vessel can also be used for treating other homogeneous, paste-like prods. Even when the prod. will not flow into or out of the vessel by gravity alone, it is displaced by gas pressure rather than pumping which could harm the prod. The angled rotor shaft ensures that the prod. does not rotate as a mass. The shaft gland is above contents level to avoid leakage problems.</p> |
