The invention relates to a feeler rod measuring device having a housing and a digital display unit. The measuring device has a feeler rod and a feeler element, which can be likewise designed as a feeler rod, as well as two measuring rods, which can be driven by said feeler rods and are provided with linear arrays. In conjunction with sensor devices, the measuring rods generate electrical pulse trains which correspond to the movement of the linear array. The two pulse trains are connected to one and the same signal processing device, in which they are added or subtracted taking account of their sign. An exceptionally shortened design of the measuring device is achieved due to the division of the entire measurement range between two measuring rods and by the possibility that the measuring rods can be moved past parallel to one another. The invention further relates to a signal processing device having supplementary devices which expand the function of the measuring device. <IMAGE>
