In a process for producing a container having a bottom fixed unreleasably to side walls and/or a lid, the side walls, lid and/or bottom, after being removed from their transport packaging or the like, are joined together and connected unreleasably to one another by means of catch members. The side walls are formed by a material strip, from which tabs are bent via bending lines and are introduced into indentations of the lid and/or bottom and are retained there underneath by catch strips. Embossed in the lid and/or bottom is a semi-circular predetermined breaking line which separates a closure of an orifice, the semi-circle of the predetermined breaking lines being connected by an indentation in the lid serving as a hinge. In a container produced by this process, the material strip (5) has an approximately rectangular blank and four bending lines (6) which intersect its axis (A) and which form the side walls (7), there being formed on one side wall (7) in a manner separated by a bending line (6) a tongue (8) which is fixed to the band edge (31) located opposite it. Furthermore, bending lines (9) arranged parallel to the axis (A) and at the edge separate tabs (10) from the side walls (7). For receiving these, the lid (2) and/or bottom (3) have indentations (24). For this, there are formed in the plane of an inner face (F) in an edge wall (24) catch strips (26) which, when the container (R) is being assembled, engage underneath the tabs (10) bent out of the plane of the side walls (7) by more than 90 DEG . The container can be used both as a dispenser for small medical instruments and, after being emptied, as a waste container.
