PURPOSE:To increase a life of a storage battery, by filling a paste state active material added with tetrabasic lead sulfate to a base plate and then maturing the material to form a crystal of the tetrabasic lead sulfate in the active material. CONSTITUTION:In the method, in which a paste state active material is filled in a base plate and matured at high temperature and high humidity to manufacture a storage battery plate, tetrabasic lead sulfate is added as a crystal forming nucleus into lead or lead dioxide as the active material. Then an additive quantity of the tetrabasic lead sulfate added into lead or lead dioxide is not specifically limited, however, normally about 5-50% is preferable, and addition in this range can obtain the tetrabasic lead sulfate of relatively small crystal size. Further previously added tetrabasic lead sulfate in size 10mu or less is preferably used. |
