In roller mills, in particular roll-type crushers whose rollers are to be relatively long, it is difficult to connect the wear-resistant segments of the roller casing to the base body of the crushing roller in such a way that after a relatively short operating time premature fractures in the screws or even deformations and formations of stress fractures do not occur in the casing segments due to the expansion and bending stresses between the segments of the roller casing and the base body. According to the invention, this is avoided in that, in order to stress at least two casing segments arranged one lying opposite the other on the base body, base body and casing segments are provided with openings which are arranged flush one opposite the other and into which tubular or rod-shaped, elastically expandable connecting elements which extend transversely with respect to the axis of rotation of the base body and on which the clamping elements engage are inserted. <IMAGE>
