Shown and described is a hydraulic valve (1) for the supply of pressure medium to a consumer, with a housing (5) having at least one pressure-medium inlet (2), at least one pressure-medium outlet (3) and a recess (4), and with a valve body (6) displaceably arranged in the recess (4) of the housing (5), a control piston (12), and a spring element (13) acting on the control piston (12), in which arrangement the flow of pressure medium from the pressure-medium inlet (2) to the pressure-medium outlet (3) can be restricted by means of the valve body (6), and the pressure drop occurring at the valve body (6) can be kept constant via the control piston (12). This hydraulic valve (1) can be used in particular as a volume-controlling valve and is of especially simple construction and is especially simple to produce, is largely free of leakage oil and is universally usable owing to the fact that the control piston (12) is designed as an annular piston and is arranged around the valve body (6). <IMAGE>
