The invention relates to an information unit (1) for recording and displaying the physical motive operation data of a bicycle which are analysed as electrical parameters. The desired display information is manually selectable and is shown on a display field (9). Transmitters (7) for the motive operation data can be connected to the information unit (1). In order to protect the information unit (1) both from unauthorised access and from damage in the event of a fall, the information unit (1) is a mobile unit which is independent of the bicycle and can be attached to the body of the rider. <IMAGE>
