A part of an orthotic device according to the invention has a holder (18, 18') adjustably fixable to the body via fastening means and having a resilient pivot joint (20, 20') and an extension part (21, 21'), to the free end of which redressement cords (33) having linked loops (35) are fastened. The holders (18, 18') can be fixed such that the axis of the pivot joints (20, 20') can be adjusted into a position closely above the particular joints to be treated. The direction of the traction force exerted upon the limbs to be treated thereby remains virtually constant irrespective of the flexion. The direction and magnitude of this traction can be adjusted on a crossmember (24) displaceably fastened to two such holders (18, 18') in such a way that redressement cords (33) provided with loops (32) are guided through corresponding recesses (27) in the crossmember (24) and the loops are laid around pins present on the upper side and are fixed there with a clip. <IMAGE>
