The invention relates to a medical instrument with which medicinal agents, probes, tubes, catheters, endoscopes and the like can be introduced into the respiratory tract of a patient. The instrument essentially comprises a flexible tube having a distal extension, a sealable opening being arranged above the extension in the tube. When the instrument is inserted, this opening can be laterally aligned to the laryngeal space of the patient. Beside the tube which serves as an introduction tube there preferably extend two air tubes having distal openings and arranged in the vicinity of the opening of the introduction tube.
