This diagnostic imaging apparatus moves an imaging core inside a catheter while rotating the imaging core to acquire pieces of line data extending radially from the rotation center of the imaging core, and uses the pieces of line data to create a three-dimensional image. The diagnostic imaging apparatus stores image data acquired through a single rotation of the imaging core and detects the locations of the centers of gravity in blood vessel cross-sections from the stored image data. The diagnostic imaging apparatus arranges tomographic images represented by the stored image data so as to be side by side in the z direction of a three-dimensional space with x, y, and z directions such that the detected centers of gravity are aligned with a specific position in the x-y plane in the three-dimensional space, and uses pixel values of the tomographic images arranged in the three-dimensional space as voxel values to create a three-dimensional image. |
