Provided is an optical module capable of achieving both compactness and a degree of freedom in the configuration thereof. This optical module 1 is provided with: a light generation unit 20; protective members 10, 40 which are provided with an emission window 41, and which are disposed so as to surround the light generation unit 20; an adapter 110 which is connected to the protective member 40, and is provided with a light-passage path 112 through which light from the light generation unit 20 passes, said light having been transmitted through the emission window 41; and an optical coupling component 120 which is connected to the adapter 110, and on which the light which has passed through the light-passage path 112 becomes incident. The light generation unit 20 includes: semiconductor light-emission elements 81, 82, 83; and lenses 91, 92, 93 which convert the spot sizes of the light emitted from the semiconductor light-emission elements 81, 82, 83. The optical coupling component 120 includes an optical component 125, and a holding member 123 for holding the optical component 125. The holding member 123 and the adapter 110 are connected. |
