PURPOSE:To improve the processing efficiency, by using s simulator which changes the specification for each type of a direct access storage device (DASD). CONSTITUTION:A data processor 1 contains a program processing part 2, and allocation simulator part 3 and an access simulator part 4. The part 3 performs a space calculation and an actual space allocation to a DASD space request on the basis of the specifications of a virtual DASD which is previously set. The part 4 simulates an access action based on the requested DASD specifications in accordance with the working of the DASD for the DASD space allocated by the part 3. Thus access control is given to the DASD without a fact that the program side is aware of the DASD specifications allocated actually. |
