PURPOSE:To effectively suck up sludge by a method in which a face cutter having a downside excavating blade on its bottom is rotatably provided on the periphery of a vertical shaft pivotally supported at the tip of a ladder provided on a dredger. CONSTITUTION:A sub-ladder 4 is pivotally supported at the tip of the main ladder 3 provided on a dredger, and a face cutter 6 having a downside excavating blade 17 on its bottom is rotatably supported on the periphery of a vertical shaft by the sub-ladder 4. Then, a cover 8 and a semi-circular rotary hood 9 are provided on the upside and side in counter-swing direction of the cutter 6 in such a way that it can be changed for its position according to the variation in the swing direction. Also, a sludge suction port 10 leading to a sludge suction pipe 7 and a water suction port 11 are provided to the cover 8. The water suction port 11 is connected to a water source through a water suction control valve 12 opening only when the water pressure in the water suction port 11 is lowered. |
