An optical element prepared by an injection molding, a compression molding or the like, comprises an optical resin composition consisting essentially of a polymer selected from the group consisting of a copolymer of a cyclohexyl methacrylate with at least one other a methyl methacrylate and a copolymer of a methylcyclohexyl methacrylate with at least one other ethyl methacrylate, the element having invariable surface evenness, high resistibility against heat and impact, low birefringence and the like as its native characteristics.
