PURPOSE:To improve the distance measuring accuracy, by changing the distance between a light projecting element and a first image forming optical system and the distance between a light receiving element and a second image forming optical system in response to the distance to a body to be measured. CONSTITUTION:The light projecting element 1 forms a projected spot image on the side of the body to be measured in general by a light projecting lens 2 constituting the image forming optical system. When luminous flux irradiated from the light projecting element 1 hits the object, diffused reflection occurs. The projected spot image on the surface of the object is formed on a light receiving element 3 by a light receiving lens 4. Even though the optical axes of a image pickup lens 5, the light projecting lens 2, and the light receiving lens are not located on the same plane, it is desirable that the deviation in the distance measuring field of view is eliminated and their positions are always kept at the center of a screen. For this purpose, the light projecting element and the light receiving element are moved with a rotary shafts 16 and 18 as the centers. |
