PURPOSE:To observe the color still picture of the sea bottom at all times irrespectively of the change in the speed of an investigating machine, by controlling the interval of strobe light emission in accordance with the speed signal from a speed sensor provided to the investigating machine. CONSTITUTION:An investigating machine 1 is pulled by the tugboat on the sea surface by means of a rope 2 and glides on the surface 3 of the sea bottom. A television camera 13 of a strobe color system which is directed forward and downward is provided in the front part on the machine 1, and the strobe control of the camera 13, that is, the control of the interval of light emission is accomplished by a controller 14 in accordance with the speed signal from a speed sensor 15 povided on the machine 1. In this control, the interval of light emission is increased or decreased with an increase or decrease in the speed of the machine 1. The still picture is observed at all times by the above-mentioned method irrespectively of the change in the speed of the machine, and the color of the surface of the sea bottom is sharply observed. |
