A method of manufacturing a battery plate pack comprises assembling a stack of battery plates interleaved with separators, and positioning the resultant assembly adjacent a stationary plastics extrusion nozzle 6. The assembly is then traversed over a path such that the side and bottom edges of the pack are moved progressively past the nozzle while the latter extrudes on to the pack edges a sealing strip of plastics material which extends continuously from one upper corner of the pack around to the other upper corner thereof. <IMAGE> |
