CONSTITUTION:The wall part of the furnace faces the tube end 1b, which is located at the opposite side of the tube end 1a that is observed by a radiation meter 3. The wall part is made to be the radiation source 7, which does not reflect the energy owing to blackening treatment and the like. The amount of the member of the radiation source 7 is determined so that the radiated energy, which is inputted from the tube end 1b, is reflected in the inside of the tubular body 1 in the furnace, and supplied to the radiation meter 3, can be grasped. Therefore, the energy generated from the inner surface of the tubular body 1 can be obtained by subtracting the radiated energy, which is generated by the radiation source 7 and supplied to the radiation meter through the inside of the steel tube 1 from the total radiated energy received by the radiation meter 3. Thus the temperature of the steel tube can be found.
