<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the large bending and oscillation hence damage of an optical cable by providing an engaging groove for the optical cable by means of a compression die in the stage of compressing a sleeve for connecting aerial wires and engaging the optical cable in said groove in the stage of installing the optical cable. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical connecting sleeve 12 having both tapered ends is compressed by compression dies 20, 20' except the tapered parts at both ends to connect aerial wires 10. One die 20 in this stage forms a longitudinal groove 12a with its projection 20a. In the stage of extending an optical cable 16 along the wire 10, the cable is engaged in the groove 12a without bypassing the sleeve 12. Then, the cable 16 is prevented from bending largely and the knocking of the cable 12 to the outer side of the cable 12 by oscillation is obviated. Thus, the damage of the optical cable is prevented.</p> |
