PURPOSE:To prevent wrongful action, by recording only a part of a secret number magnetically on a card, performing tentative collation at a terminal device, connecting the data with a CPU when the result of collation is coincident, inputting all the secret number, encrypting, transmitting and collating the number with the method designated with the CPU. CONSTITUTION:When the user inserts a CD1 into a card reader 11 according to the instruction of an input display section 12, an index code comprising a financial facilities name, name of establishment, and accounting number on the card and the upper-order two digits out of four digits of the secret number are read and tentative collation is executed at a communication control section 13. When the number is not coincident, retrial is executed for a prescribed number of times, and if the number is further dissident, the card is rejected for alarming. When coincident, the result is transmitted to a host computer 20 and the reinput of the secret number is displayed on a display section 12. The number is encrypted with the method designated in a storage section 14 in accordance with the instruction from the host computer 20 and transmitted, the host computer 20 interpretes it, collates it with a memory in a storage section 21 and when they are coincident, a signal permitting payment is returned. Thus, wrongful action such as a finder of the CD and the operator is prevented. |
