PURPOSE:To designate freely data amount accessible with one microinstruction, by providing the microinstruction to access a storage device having an access length control field in a microprogram. CONSTITUTION:A machine instruction is set to an instruction register 1. The operation code of a machine instruction accessing a main storage is an address of a control storage 3 and the length of the machine instruction is set to access length holding registers R1, R2. An access length update circuit 2 controls the registers R1, R2 based on the control instruction from an access length update control circuit 5. The microinstruction read out from the control storage 3 is set to a control storage data register 4. The control for each part of the computer is done by this microinstruction. The circuit performs control based on the content of the access length control field of the microinstruction. |
