PURPOSE:To easily perform the adjustment of an edge by adjusting the direction of the edge so that it coincides with the direction of arrangement of fiber base materials by observing the image of the edge reflected on a mirror. CONSTITUTION:In the vicinity of the incidence end 1a of an image fiber 1, a mirror 4 is arranged so that it is tilted for the incidence end 1a. At this time, the mirror 4 is supported to be movable at its upper end by a pin 5. A microscope 6 is arranged so that it is able to observe the input 1a of the image fiber 1 reflected on the mirror 4. While observing the input end 1a through the microscope 6, the direction of an edge 2 is adjusted to that it coincides with the direction of arrangement of optical fiber basic lines composing the image fiber 1, and the edge 2 is pasted to the incidence end 1a. After that, the mirror 4 is removed from a frontal space extended in the axial direction of the incidence end 1a by turning it around and illuminating light rays 3 are caused to enter the image fiber and by this, the amount of leaking light rays can be directly read out. |
