PURPOSE:To efficiently attach a charged toner to an electrostatic latent image, by covering the magnetic metallic cylinder of a developing roll with a permanent magnetic sheet having N, S poles alternately continuously arranged. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic roll 4 is arranged rotatably in a rotatable nonmagnetic metallic cylinder 3 to form a developing roll. The cylinder 3 is covered with a permanent magnetic sheet 7 having N, S poles alternately and continuously arranged. The region in which a toner brush can be formed on the sheet 7 is limited by using such constitution, permitting sufficient rotation of the toner brush, and also, efficient attachment of charged toner to an electrostatic latent image even if a high-resistance magnetic toner is used. |
