PURPOSE:To provide the resistance to corrosion, resistance to high temp. oxidation, etc. equal to the resistance of a cladding material to the weld zone of a joint, by providing a groove opening on the base metal side of stainless steel, and welding the cladding material thereto, then welding an intermediate layer of a ferroalloy having a prescribed compsn. on the cladding material layer and further welding a welding material contg. the alloy elements equal to the elements of the base metal thereon. CONSTITUTION:A ferroalloy contg., by weight %, <=0.1% C, <=1.0% Si, <=2.0% Mn, <=12% Cr, <=10% Ni, <=1.0% Mo, and Ti or/and Nb as follows and consisting of the balance Fe is prepared as the above-described intermediate weld metal: 1.0% Ti or/and Nb are incorporated as an upper limit, and Ti alone is incorporated 4 times the content of C and Nb alone 8 times the content of C, and when both are contained, the sum of the content of Ti and the content of Nb twice said content is incorporated 4 times the content of C as a lower limit. A welding material contg. the alloy elements equal to the elements contained in the base metal is welded onto the above-described intermediate layer. As a result, the resistance to corrosion, resistance to high temp. oxidation, etc. equal to the resistance of the cladding material is provided to the weld zone of the joint, and the mechanical strength equal to the mechanical strength of the base metal is provided. |
