<p>PURPOSE:To simplify the process for congestion and to improve the throughput, by receiving each packet from a terminal and deciding and processing the transfer address to a primary storage device in accordance with the logical group number, logical number and packet type respectively. CONSTITUTION:Each packet sent from a terminal 30A is supplied to a subchannel SCH14 based on the transmission control procedure of a high-level data and via a high-speed signal transmission controller 15 of a packet exchange 10A. The SCH14 decides the transfer address to a primary storage device 12 for each packet in accordance with the logical group number, logical number and type of the packet respectively and gives a direct memory access to the device 12 via a channel multiplexer CHM13. A central controller 11 searches periodically the presence or absence of data and then analyzes the data if any. Then the controller 11 secures the correspondence between an incoming path and an outgoing path with a buffer linkage and with each call and transmits a calling packet to a terminating station 10B via a trunk line 20A, a switching office 10C and a trunk line 20B. The terminating station transmits an incoming packet to a desired terminal 30B as long as the incoming is possible for the terminal 30B and then sends back an answer packet.</p> |
