PURPOSE:To prevent effectively the generation of static electricity, and to prevent threads from fluffing, by providing a laser beam source for irradiating a laser beam adjacent to the running threads in a thread processing step. CONSTITUTION:In case that a plurality of threads 1 that are secured to one another by sizing are subjected to a thread processing step wherein the threads are separated (or raveled) individually by separating rods 8a-8e, the layers 12a-12f of the raveled threads 1 are irradiated with the laser beam 5 for preventing them from being charged with static electricity. In this case, to irradiate all the layers 12a-12f with a laser beam 15 from a single laser beam source 14 effectively, reflectors 13a-13d are used. Thus the laser beam 15 is traveled in a zigzag manner as shown and is finally received by a light receiving sensor 16. If desired, cut of the thread is detected by the output of the light receiving sensor 16. |
