PURPOSE:To reduce upward deformation at the corner parts and the top parts of a tank body shaped like a dome, by holding the circumferential part on the upper surface of the tank body by a support member fixed to the side wall of a pit so that the tank body is not deformed upward. CONSTITUTION:In case that hydraulic and gas pressures are exerted to a tank body 4, downward deformation of the tank body 4 is prevented by a support member 8 while its upward deformation due to gas pressure is prevented by a holding member 9. Further, in case that shrinkage of the tank body 4 is caused by the heat shrinkage of a low-temperature liquefied gas, the support member 8 slides over the upper surface of heat-insulating concrete 3. Since the tank body 4 is only kept in contact with the support member 8 and the holding member 9 but not fixed to them, the tank body 4 behaves like a rubber balloon filled with water at the time of an earthquake, so that the tank body 4 can be protected from damages. |
