PURPOSE:To enable to increase the exchanging period of a type carriage in a line printer which is connected to a computer system by arranging many types which are frequently used in the carriage. CONSTITUTION:Type array data of 240 byte from a channel are written in the first UCSB 4 through a bus buffer 10. A CPU 1 discriminates bands A, B, C, J with band identification data from I/O ports 2, and writes, for example, in case of A, data from addresses 0 to 29 of the first UCSB 4 in the second UCSB and data 0, 1, 2, 3 from addresses 30 to 33 at every 30 characters. In this manner, 0-3 which are frequently used are arranged at every 30 characters, and the wear of the types becomes by half. The stored type array data are compared by a comparator 7 with the printing data of a print line buffer 6 through a bus buffer 11, thereby generating a type command in case of coincidence. |
