PURPOSE:To make it possible to a road surface friction responsive characteristic and a load responsive characteristic from which a steering force optimum for a sliding friction coefficient of a road surface may be obtained, by sensing the coefficient of the road surface without being affected by the loaded weight of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:An accumulator 19 is connected to a compensating hydraulic pipe line 18 which branches off from a supply side hydraulic circuit pipe line 62 upstream of a control valve 13, and a compensation pressure control valve 20 for maintaining the pressure of the accumulator 19 above a set value is arranged. Further, a pair of reaction compensating pipe lines 21, 22 are connected between reaction chambers 46, 47 in the valve 13 and the accumulator 19, and a pair of reaction compensating valves 23, 24 are disposed in the reaction compensating pipe lines 21, 22 while a pair of pressure sensors 25, 26 are communicated with the reaction chambers 46, 47 in the valve 13. Further, a controller 27 opens and closed the reaction compensating valves 21, 22 in accordance with signals from the pressure sensors 25, 26. |
