A filter for the removal of suspended dry solids from a gas or air stream comprises a series of cylindrical filter elements supported on a framework from a hermetically sealed partition wall dividing the inlet and outlet sides of a fabricated filter chamber. A purging system employs compressed air directed in pulses through valves into the interior of each filter element causing a backflush to force accumulated dirt out of the filter elements and into a hopper at the bottom of the chamber. - Used for industrial air and gas cleaning.
