Compounds of the general formula I <IMAGE> where n is 0 or an integer from 1 to 4, p is 0 or 1, q is 0, 1 or 2, R and R' denote, independently of each other, hydrogen or halogen atoms of lower alkyl, halogen-lower alkyl, nitro or NR2R3, where R2 and R3 denote, independently of each other, hydrogen or lower alkyl, or R and R1 in neighbouring positions together complete a fused saturated or unsaturated, carbocylic ring which can contain from 5 to 7 carbon atoms, X is an oxygen or sulphur atom or a sulphinyl or sulphonyl group, Y is an imidazolyl or 1,2,4-triazolyl group, each of which separately can be substituted by a lower alkyl group or an aryl group, where the aryl group is phenyl, halogenophenyl or lower-alkylphenyl, Z is alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, cycloalkyl or a heterocyclic-aromatic group which can contain at least one substituent selected from halogen atoms and lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkylidenedioxy, phenyl and N- (N'-lower alkanoylpiperazinyl), with, however, Z not being 1-alkynyl when n is 0 and with Z also being able, when n is from 1 to 4, to be alkoxy, alkylthio, aryl, aryloxy or arylthio, or an aryl, aryloxy or arylthio group having substituents selected from halogen atoms and lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkylidenedioxy and N- (N'-(lower)-alkanoylpiperazinyl), and where the statement "lower" in the abovementioned expressions indicates groups having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and where the dotted line in the formula indicates the presence of a single or double bond, with, however, it only indicating the presence of a double bond when p is 0 and X is a sulphur atom, and acid addition salts thereof. These compounds have an antimicrobial, in particular antifungal, antibacterial and antiprotozoal effect. Compositions, in particular pharmaceutical compositions which comprise the compounds, are indicated, as are processes for preparing them.
