PURPOSE:To prevent erroneous printing, missing in printing, and damage of type wheels, in a type selecting type printer, by generating abnormal signals when a current is not flowed at the time the current should be flowed to a hammer solenoid and when the current is flowed during the nonconducting period. CONSTITUTION:When a printing timing control signal is sent to a control circuit 4 from a type selection control part 5 at the type selection, the control circuit 4 controls the ON and OFF of a hammer driving circuit 3, and the control is performed so that an exciting current is flowed to the solenoid 1. When a detected signal is sent from a current detecting part 2 before the type selection, the control circuit 4 makes an alarm generating circuit 8 generate an alarm signal and stops the type selection operation. The control is performed so as to turn OFF the exciting current to the solenoid 1. When the control is performed by the control circuit 4 so that the hammer driving circuit 3 is turned ON and the solenoid 1 is energized, but the current is not detected by the current detecting part 2, the alarm signal is generated by the same way. |
