PURPOSE:To obtain a single cell for a fuel cell with the improved adhesion of a catalyst layer and an electrode substrate by forming the catalyst layer and a matrix layer on the electrode substrate, coating the upper part of the electrode substrate with a catalyst mixture, applying the electrode substrate on it, and pressing them together and sintering them. CONSTITUTION:The first catalyst layer 3 is formed by coating the first electrode substrate 1 with a mixture composed of catalyst powder and a bonding agent and drying and sintering them. A matrix layer 5 is formed on this catalyst layer 3. Then, the matrix layer 5 is coated with a mixture 4 composed of the catalyst powder and the bonding agent and dried. They are pressed together after putting the second electrode substrate 2 on them. A single cell 13 is formed by sintering the second catalyst layer 4 at a preset temperature subsequently and making it adhere integratedly to the second electrode substrate 2. If this single cell is used, a fuel cell with excellent characteristics can be assembled efficiently. |
