PURPOSE:To enable a workpiece to be processed from all directions by immersing the workpiece and a processing machine in a pool of liquid solidified by cooling to solidify the workpiece and the processing machine and liquefy the surrounding of the processing machine and portions of workpiece opposed to the processing machine. CONSTITUTION:A workpiece 3 and a processing machine 4 are immersed in a pool 1 receiving liquid 2 solidified by cooling and floated in the liquid 2. Then, the liquid 2 is solidified, and next the surrounding of the processing machine 4 and portions of the workpiece 3 opoosed thereto are liquefied while respective holders 8 are operated to fix the workpiece 3 at the unliquefied portions. After a predetermined work, liquidization and cooling are carried out and the holders 8 are operated while the processing machine 4 is moved three-dimensionally relative to the workpiece 3. Thus, the three-dimensional movement of the processing machine is facilitated and the stable maintenance of same can be provided. |
