<p>An artificial denture comprises (1) a preformed tooth-holding part which has been ground out to provide room for (2) a mouth-engaging part integrally chemically bonded to (1). (1) is made from an acrylic or epoxide polymer of hardness not less than Shore D40. (2) is made from a non-hydrophilic polyurethane elastomer of hardness not greater than Shore A65, which is the reaction prod. of a polyether polyol and an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aralkyl di- or poly-isocyanate in which the NCO gps. are directly bonded to the aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or alkyl moieties. - The denture has a soft, mouth-engaging part to provide for the wearer's comfort and at the same time is resistant to flex and photodegradation.</p> |
