PURPOSE:To grind even super hard alloy with high accuracy, by providing the zero voltage time between a conductive grindstone and a workpiece and performing the grinding while applying predetermined voltage. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes are connected from a voltage feeder E to a grindstone 1 and material to be grinded. Then the grindstone 1 is rotated at high speed to operate the device E while the voltage having such waveform where predetermined time interval (t) is provided to the zero voltage at the border of positive and negative voltages is applied to cut into the material M. During the time interval P when the supply voltage is positive or negative, the voltage is applied between the grindstone 1 and the material M to proceed the dissolution due to the electrolization. During the time interval (t) when the supply voltage is zero, the electrolization will not occur and the mechanical grinding due to the particles of the grindstone 1 will proceed. Since both functions are repeated alternatively in a short time, the dissoluted portion can be mechanically removed immediately resulting in highly efficient grinding. |
