PURPOSE:To smooth the fitting of a battery into an appliance without deteriorating the resistance of the battery to liquid leakage and changing the total height of the battery, by restricting the level of the top of exposed part of an insulating ring within an appropriate range on the basis of the top of the open end of a case. CONSTITUTION:The level of the top of an insulating ring 4 is set at the top of an anode case or set lower than the top. If the level of the top of the ring were set too low, the top of the anode case might come into contact with a cathode plate after the anode case is calked. For that reason, the height difference between the top of the anode case and that of the insulating ring located below the former must be not more than the thickness of the case. If the top of the ring is located above that of the case calked, the height difference must be equal to or less than 20% of the case thickness to enable secure fitting into an appliance. The upper limit to the height of the top 4a of the ring 4 from that of the open end 2a of the case is 20% of the case thickness (t) and the lower limit is -100% of the thickness. |
