Exchanger includes an outer, tubular casing (a) contg. an inner tubular casing (c). A sealing ring is located in the annular cavity (b) between casings (a,c) to form an inlet chamber (b1) and an outlet chamber (b2) for one fluid (I). Inside casing (c) are circular rows of tubes bent at both ends so fluid (I) can flow through the tubes from chamber (b1) to chamber (b2). A second fluid (II) flows through the entire bore of casing (c) over the outside surfaces of the tubes without changing its direction of flow. The length of chambers (b1,b2) pref. compensates for the thermal expansion and contraction of the tubes; and the casings (a,c) may be circular or square. Used e.g. for corrosive fluids, esp. for cooling a hot, corrosive gas contg. dust, where the gas can flow along a straight path through the inner casing (c).
|
