摘要 PURPOSE:To enable the stable binary coding only of a target by obtaining a mean value in a gate region for every scanning and, after converting the luminance level of the internal region of a gate, performing the binary coding for every scanning. CONSTITUTION:A one can delay circuit 30 delays digital signals 9 by the time corresponding to one scanning and outputs the signal as a delayed digital signals 31. A gate region averaging circuit 32 receives the digital signals 9 and gate data 37 and calculates the mean value of the luminance of a gate region to output it as mean value data 33. A luminance level converting circuit 34, receiving the mean value data 33, the delayed digital signals 31 and the gate data 37, converts the digital signals for one scanning to output it as converted digital signals 35. A binary coding circuit 10 performs a binary coding by the comparison between the converted digital signals 35 and threshold data 39 and outputs a result as binary signals 11. A line segment extracting circuit 40, receiving the binary signals 11, detects one line segment for one scanning and outputs a result as line segment data 41.
