An electric motor and a gearbox form an integral unit (3) which is rotatably located in the lock housing. The unit output shaft has a cog drive (4) which engages a cogged rod (5) axially displaceable in the lock housing. The cogged rod is connected to driver components (20,8,10) which move the lock bolt (15). A pref. electrical stop component (16-18) is incorporated in the unit which, on a given electrical signal, locks the unit in a fixed position. The unit remains inactive when mechanical manoeuvring of the lock by key takes place, but rotates in the lock housing when the cogged rod is displaced by the driver components. The connection between the cogged rod and the driver components comprises a recess (7) in the rod in which one (8) of the driver components is located. The composite unit comprising motor and gearbox is located in the lock housing by ball bearings. (Provisional basic advised week 87/48) |
