PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability of the operation of an electronically-controlled single fuel injector including a single fuel injection valve and improve the durability of the injector, by providing a control valve for regulating the pressure of fuel to be sent to an injection valve and by governing the control valve depending on the operating condition of an engine. CONSTITUTION:A fuel injection valve 6 of fixed jet type is attached to an intake manifold 4 upstream to a throttle valve 1, so that fuel sent under pressure from a fuel pump 11 and regulated of pressure by a fuel pressure control valve 12 is supplied through the nozzle. The quantity of fuel to be returned to a fuel tank is controlled depending on the quantity of electricity applied to the solenoid 13 of the fuel pressure control valve 12, so that the pressure of the fuel to be sent to the nozzle 6 is regulated. The control valve 12 is governed by a control circuit 23. The circuit 23 receives the outputs of an air flow meter 5, a fuel pressure sensor 16, a throttle opening degree sensor 17, an O2 sensor 19, an intake air temperature 20 and a water temperature sensor 21 to govern the control valve 12 to equalize the air fuel ratio to a prescribed level. |
